Cosel Co. Ltd. has announced that the TUNS Series of board level AC-DC power supplies has been expanded to include 300W and 500W models. The product line up now includes 50W, 100W, 300W and 500W AC/DC modules. All wattages are available now for shipment.
The TUNS series is a universal input, PFC front end with DC-DC converter combined into a single module. The TUNS series is ideal for conduction cooling applications where forced air cannot be provided. Applications like sealed boxes where conduction of heat can be made through the enclosure to the outside without venting or forced air.
The TUNS300 and 500 are both compact standard full brick size and require minimal board space.
The TUNS50 and 100 are available in output voltages of 5, 12 and 24 VDC. The TUNS300 and 500 are available in output voltages of 12, 28 and 48VDC and can be trimmed up to +/- 20% using an external resistor. Remote Sensing is standard on the TUNS300 and 500. A parallel operation option will be available for the TUNS500 in 2015. The TUNS300/500 achieve high efficiency, up to 90%, utilizing digital assist control with a built-in micro-processor. TUNS500 also has peak power capability up to 130% of rated capacity for up to 10 seconds. This is ideal for applications that require DC peaking power. The TUNS300 and 500 have a function of Inverter Operation Monitor that can be used to monitor the condition of the inverter which is the heart of the power supply. By monitoring the inverter one determines the condition of the power supply and alert the user to any potential problems.
The TUNS Series operates on input voltages of 85 to 264 VAC 50/60 Hz with PFC up to .96. Harmonic Attenuation complies with IEC61000-3-2 Class A.
The TUNS300 Series can operate at 100% output up to 100°C at the base plate. The TUNS500 can operate at 100% up to 85C and up to 60% rated output at 100C at the base plate. The series will also operate down to -40C. The TUNS series is standard with built-in over current protection, over voltage protection and thermal protection.
Safety approvals include UL60950, C-UL, CE and EN60950-1. The TUNS Series is also RoHS compliant. The TUNS series has 5 year warranty and high reliability due to no aluminum or tantalum electrical capacitors used.
TU series is a great solution for applications requiring compact size, high efficiency, and high reliability. Applications that require silent operation (no fan) or in sealed equipment are ideal for the TUNS Series. Typical applications are Telecom, Semi-conductor Manufacturing Equipment, Networks, RF, Broadcasting Equipment, Medical, Military, and displays. The TUNS Series is also ideal for applications with high or very low ambient operating temperatures.
